In the first year the festival attracted around 500 people and today the Notting Hill Carnival attracts thousands of people. The first day of the carnival which is Sunday is Family Day. The festival starts with a fun opening dance with drummers which starts at 6am to 9 am just right before the children’s parade. The next day, Bank Holiday Monday is the main parade of the carnival.
