Here you can find some information useful to know before you travel to London and England.
1) Time
In England they use the GMT time, meaning 0. If you arrive from for example Germany you need to change the time with -1 hour. If you arrive from New York you need to change your clock with +5 hours.
2) Driving
If you plan on driving a car in England you better be aware that cars drive on the left side of the road and that the steering wheel is on the right side of the car. If you are not used to this, you better be very careful and maybe consider a taxi or train instead of renting a car. It takes a while to get used to it, and mistakes can be very dangerous.
3) Wave to the bus driver
Buses doesn’t normally stop, unless you make a sign to the driver that you want to get on the bus. So, if you do not want to see the bus pass by you while sitting on the bus stop waiting, stand up and wave to the driver.
4) Electricity
One of things creating problems for many as they arrive to England is the plugs used for electricity. In most hotels they can help you. In England they use plugs with three “plugs”, so be prepared, buy a changer beforehand or leave your electric stuff at home.
