Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
One of our all time favourite is Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows is a British-American action mystery movie which was released in 2011 and was directed by Guy Richie. The movie is based on the fictional character by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and it shows the adventure of Sherlock Holmes and his faithful friend and partner Dr. John Watson. The whole movie is set in the 19th century in London. The film stars Robert Downey, Jr., Jude Law, Rachel McAdams, Noomie Rapace and so on.

Closer
Our second movie from the list is Closer. Closer is romantic drama which was released in 2004. The movie was directed by Mike Nichols and it was written by Patrick Marber and it is an adaption of the award winning 1997 novel Closer by Patrick Marber. the movie stars Julia Roberts, Natalie Portman, Jude Law and Clive Owen. The whole movie takes place in London and tells the strange story of four strangers that are connected in different ways. The movie shows love, passion and drama at the same time. The movie was nominated and won several awards.

Bridget Jone’s Diary
Probably one of the most famous romantic movie that was shot in London is Bridget Jone’s Diary. Bridget Jone’s Diary is a British romantic movie which was released in 2001. The movie is based on the novels of Bridget Jone’s Diary by Helen Fielding. The movie stars Renèe Zellweger, Hugh Grant and Colin Firth. The film tells the story of Bridget Jones and how she finds her true love.

The Harry Potter
The Harry Potter movies also features some London locations including King’s Cross station, London Zoo and so on. Harty Potter is a series of 7 novels written by J. K. Rowling. They made movies based on the books and they are among the most popular movies. The movie shows the life and the adventures of the young wizard Harty Potter and his friends. The movie stars Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, Emma Watson as Hermione Granger and so on.

Snatch
Snatch is our other favourite movie that was shot in London. Snatch is a comedy crime movie which was released in 2000 and it was written and directed by Guy Ritchie. Hello! Since England has gotten such a good start at the Cricket World Cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand, I would really like to follow them in their upcoming matches. How can I watch these in London?

To watch these matches in London should be the simplest thing on earth, especially since the team is doing good and Brits do love cricket. In other words, whatever pub or bar you will find in London will broadcast from the Cricket matches in which England play during the World Cup, so simply go ahead and visit one of the pubs in London, and you will for sure be able to watch the matches. If you want to have the very best atmosphere, then you will probably want to find one of the many sports pubs in London, but they can also be found almost on every single corner of the town, so that should be no problem either.

The most romantic places in London

London is one of the most exciting and vibrant city in the whole world so it is not surprising it has a lot to offer to its visitors. In this short article we will list some of the most romantic places you can discover in London.

Our first recommendation is the Columbia Road Flower Market. The Columbia Road Flower Market takes place on the Columbia Road in East London on every Sunday. It is a perfect place to wander among the colourful flowers and discover the street’s antique shops and art galleries.

Our second favourite thing to do is ice skating and it is a perfect program to spend a cold winter afternoon with your loved one. At the place you can even have mulled wine and hot chocolate to warm your fingers up. The ice rink is open from late November until early January.

What could be more romantic than having a romantic picnic?! The Hampstead Heath is a huge park in the city. The park is a perfect opportunity for a nice walk or a relaxing picnic in the grass.

One of the nicest spots in the city is Little Venice. At Little Venice colourful houseboats are floating on the water which gives an absolutely charming and relaxing atmosphere to the place. Little Venice is just right at the busy road of Edgware Road.

Top events in London in 2015

Truly one of the most popular cities in Europe is London. London is not only the capital of fashion but also the most vibrant, colourful and interesting cities in Europe and in the whole world.

Every year millions of tourists go to London for shorter or longer periods of time. Each year London offers the best programs, activities, various exhibitions, concerts and countless festivals as well. So let’s go through some of the highlights of the year.

In January the city gives home to the Special Evensong at the Westminster Abbey in the centre of London. The Special Evensong celebrates the history of the House of Commons. This year the Special Evensong will take place on 22nd January 2015. The upcoming event in January in London will be the Burns Night in London which is the anniversary of the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns’ birthday and in this occasion several London restaurants hold a special Burns Night event.

Another special and unique event in London is the London Mela which is the biggest outdoor South Asian festival in Europe. The festival will take place some time in August in 2015, the exact dates are not confirmed yet. Probably one of the most awaited events in the life of London is the London Restaurant Festival. The London Restaurant Festival is a three weeks long foodies event and special menus at London restaurants. The dates for this year are not announced yet.Apart from the multiple festivals London also offers the best concerts for the visitors.

In 2015 there will be nearly 2500 concerts in London. This year you can enjoy the concerts of the biggest names in the world of music such as Fall Out Boy, Ed Sheeran, U2, Foo Fighters, Taylor Swift, Take That, Deep Purple and many others.

Near to Christmas when the weather is cold all the various Christmas markets and Winter Wonderlands open their gates again in the city. The markets usually open in the middle of November and they last until the end of year or the beginning of next year.

William Morris exhibition

William Morris was an English textile designer, poet and novelist, he was a real Victorian artist, writer and visionary thinker. He was born in 1834 and he died in 1896. Morris had a major role to the revival of the traditional British textile arts and its production as well.

The Anarchy and Beauty exhibition will help the visitors to explore more about William Morris, his life and his work as well. At the exhibition visitors can have a closer look on his concept of ‘art of people’ through several portraits, personal items and countless objects from Morris. Most of the exhibits are displayed the first time to the audience. This is the first major exhibition of William Morris and his fascinating work.

The exhibition also presents some of the original furnitures and textiles designed and owned by William Morris. At the exhibition visitors can discover more on the work of Morris contemporaries including Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Edward Burne-Jones. The Anarchy and Beauty exhibition will be shown at National Portrait Gallery in London. The exhibition will be held from 16th October 2014 until 11th January 2015.
