Trafalgar Square is one of the most important things to see while in London. For the citizens of London this is a typical place to meet up before going out for a snack, a cup of coffee or maybe before a cultural event.
In the middle of the square you can find the Nelson column, with admiral Nelson located at the top of it. The column is placed there in remembrance of the famous Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, when the English forces defeated the soldiers of Napoleon. Around the column, you can see four lions, and children always enjoy climbing onto them.
There are two large fountains located on Trafalgar Square, and on one side of the square, you can find one of the best museums in all of London, the National Gallery.
The square is always packed with people, but around Christmas and New Year especially many come to the square to partake in the traditional events taking place on the square.
